Your data and your account
What other people see about you and when, which notifications always come, and what deleting your account does.
What other people see
| What | Who | When |
|---|---|---|
| Your first name, age and photo, and the times and places you share | The candidate, or the person invited | You are one of their candidates, or in an invitation |
| Your first name and phone number | Your date | You both chose to share your number in the feedback |
| Your location on a map, for 40 minutes | Your date | Around the start of a date, if you choose to share your location |
The table is everything other people see about you. Nobody but you sees your email address or your trusted person’s number. Your date does not see your feedback. If Pilke puts your dates in your own calendar, such as your Google or Apple calendar, anyone who can see that calendar sees the entry. See Your free times.
Notifications

For each notification you choose whether it comes to your phone 1, your email 2, both or neither. New invitations, for example, tells you when someone invites you on a date. Email works once your address is confirmed.
Three notifications always come to your phone, because they are only any use on time:
- A date starting: you can now share your location, 20 minutes before the start.
- When the other person arrives: your date has shared their location at the venue.
- Cancelled dates: without it you would go and wait for someone who is not coming.
The empty-calendar reminder comes on Sundays at about 17:00, if you have nothing marked for the week ahead.
Your account

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your phone number, and there is no password. Signing in is per device, and it lasts 90 days from when you last used the app.
Sign out of every device 1 signs you out everywhere, this device included. Use it if your phone is lost or on loan.
Delete account 2 deletes your account straight away, and it cannot be undone:
- Your name, photo, contact details, wishes, calendar and answers are deleted at once.
- Upcoming agreed dates are called off, and the other person is told. If they sent the invitation, they get their sparks back. A date that has already started is left as it is.
- Invitations you sent are withdrawn and invitations you received are declined. Whoever sent one gets their sparks back.
- Past dates, the feedback given on them and safety reports are kept. Where your name was, people see Deleted user.
You can sign up again later with the same number, but you start from an empty account. How long each thing is kept is in the privacy policy.
