Safety
The safety button brings in someone you trust during a date, and a safety report tells us if you felt unsafe.
The safety button
The Safety button appears on the date’s screen once you have saved a trusted person’s phone number under Security in Settings. Without a number there is no button, so save it beforehand and agree it with them.
One press sends them a text message: Pilke: [your name] pressed the safety button and is asking you to get in touch. It contains no location, no venue, no time and nothing about your date. Your date is not told you pressed it. Pilke records that you pressed it and whether the message got through.
The screen tells you whether it was sent. If not, call your trusted person yourself. In an emergency, call 112.
Reporting that you felt unsafe
When you answer the feedback’s How did the date go? with Not well, we ask Did you feel safe on the date? If you answer I felt unsafe, the questionnaire takes you to a report. You can pick what happened and describe it in your own words if you want to, up to 2000 characters. The report goes when you press Send, even with nothing filled in.
The report goes to Pilke’s staff, and only they see it. We read it as soon as we can. Your date does not see it.
A report does not reach the authorities. In an emergency, call 112.
Telling us how your date behaved
When your feedback says your date was very late, was on their phone a lot or was rude, or you answer the safety question with Something bothered me, we ask Would you like to tell Pilke’s staff about this? It is up to you. If you answer Yes, I’ll tell them, you can describe what happened in your own words if you want to, up to 2000 characters.
Only Pilke’s staff see what you tell us, and we read it as soon as we can. Your date is not told about it.
